Corie graduated from Chico State with a Bachelors degree in Political Science in 1999. She earned her Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in Orange County, where she clerked for Bollington, Roberts, Hunkins & McDonald, in house counsel for 21st Century Insurance in Long Beach. Corie later accepted a clerkship at a law firm in Santa Monica, specializing in criminal defense and civil litigation.
Upon being admitted to the California Bar, Corie worked for Schumann, Rallo & Rosenberg, LLP in Costa Mesa, where she practiced civil litigation and insurance defense for clients including Mercury Insurance and the California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA). Corie was also counsel for the BLOC talent agency in Los Angeles where she practiced entertainment law, specializing in performance contracts.
Corie then returned home to Butte County in 2004, where she served as a Deputy District Attorney for eight years. While at the Butte County District Attorney’s Office, she handled the most serious of cases.
Upon leaving the Butte County District Attorney’s Office, Corie opened her practice, dedicated solely to criminal defense.
Corie is a member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
